The Wallaceburg Red Devils’ season ended Sunday with a 17-13 loss to the Elora Mohawks in front of 408 fans at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena.

The second-seeded Mohawks won the best-of-five Western Conference semifinal in the Ontario Jr. ‘B’ Lacrosse League in four games.

The Mohawks won 14-6 on Saturday in Game 3 in Elora.

On Sunday, the fourth-seeded Red Devils led 3-0 early but trailed 7-5 after the first period.

They rallied for an 8-8 tie midway through the second, then the Mohawks scored six of the next seven goals.

Marshall Powless and Tyler Brown each had a hat trick and two assists for the Red Devils.

Blain Adams scored twice, Cory Lucier and Kyle Dawson each had a goal and two assists, and Tanner Cole had three helpers.

Cory Burr, Vern Hill and Jordan Goddard also scored. Losing goalie Cecil Jacobs allowed nine goals on 29 shots and Brayden Bell gave up seven goals on 15 shots.

On Saturday, Lucier had two goals and three assists for the Red Devils, who trailed 7-2 after one period and 10-5 after two.

Hill, Cole, Brown and Burr also scored. Bell took the loss after giving up six goals on 14 shots and Jacobs stopped 30 of 38 shots.
