Saskatchewan Roughriders sign Nigel Harris

The Riders bolstered their linebacker depth with the signing of American Nigel Harris.

Nigel Harris, an American linebacker who spent three seasons in the NFL, has signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The CFL team announced the signing of the 26-year-old Harris via Twitter on Monday.

Harris originally signed with the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2017 out of the University of South Florida. He played in a combined eight games in 2017 with the Chargers, New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, recording a total of nine defensive tackles.

After a stint on the Arizona Cardinals’ practice roster, Harris dressed for a total of three games with the Tennessee Titans in 2018 and 2019.

Harris spent four collegiate seasons at South Florida, dressing for 47 games and starting in 41, including seven as a true freshman.

Over his college career, Harris recorded 232 defensive tackles, 27 tackles for a loss, six sacks and three interceptions.
