Wheatley man charged in fatal Huron crash

The Huron County OPP has charged a Wheatley man with careless driving causing death after a fatal rear-end crash that took place near Centralia this past October.

The 61-year-old transport truck driver was charged with careless driving causing death in the Oct. 29 collision on London Road just north of Mount Carmel Drive.

James McIntyre, 75, of Middlesex Centre Township, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The truck driver has a court date scheduled for Jan. 21 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.

Any witnesses with information regarding this crash are still urged to contact the Huron OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or 519-524-8314.

Police recover stolen truck in Chatham

Police recovered a stolen grey Ford Ranger Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of an apartment building on Thames Street.

The truck was reported stolen from the Lakeshore area. It was towed from the scene and the registered owner was notified.

Careless driving charge

Police responded to a four-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon on Queen’s Line between Wheeler Line and Davidson Road.

Minor injuries were reported. Total damage was estimated at $6,000.

A 52-year-old Wallaceburg woman was charged with careless driving.
