A Raleigh Township man is facing a slew of charges related to historical domestic violence while his mother is also charged with assaulting the suspected victim.

Charges were laid after the suspected victim went to Chatham-Kent police headquarters Sunday morning.

The 28-year-old man was charged with two counts of forcible confinement, four counts of assault, mischief with a value less than $5,000, uttering threats to cause bodily harm and assault causing bodily harm.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

His 54-year-old mother from Erieau was charged with two counts of assault. She was released on a Form 10 undertaking – an alternative to a bail hearing – and must attend court May 11.

Break and enter

Items valued at $200 were stolen early Monday morning from the Salvation Army on Lowe Street in Wallaceburg.

Someone broke the glass out of the loading bay door to gain entry and caused about $250 in damage.
