The Chatham Goodfellows’ 65th annual Porchlight Campaign on Monday night collected enough non-perishable food to fill more than 100 boxes and enough toys to fill another 70.

The organization stated its board of directors was “very pleased with the great turnout” and expressed appreciation to the community for its support.

More than 560 volunteers canvassed Chatham’s neighbourhoods for the cause.

They also collected a lot of cash. Moe than $43,900 was donated on Monday – $600 more than the amount collected during the Porchlight Campaign in 2018.

Meanwhile, the Goodfellows continue with their “No Child Without a Christmas” campaign.
