A man and woman are facing charges in connection to the theft of a 65-inch TV.

Chatham-Kent police responded to a shoplifting complaint Thursday night at the Chatham Walmart store.

Police said a man left the store with a RCA 4K television, valued at $900, without paying for it.

A woman was waiting in a vehicle in the parking lot and they left.

Police were given a description of the suspects and the licence plate on the vehicle.

An officer on general patrol saw the vehicle at the intersection of Charing Cross Road and Middle Line in Charing Cross.

The officer stopped the vehicle and through investigation, the two suspects were arrested and the television was recovered, police said.

A 35-year-old Harwich Township man and a 22-year-old Chatham woman were each charged with theft and being in possession of property obtained by crime.

They were both released with a March 20 court date.

Fail to remain

Chatham-Kent police are asking a woman, involved in a fail to remain collision, to identify herself.

Police said around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, the woman was involved in a crash in a parking lot on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Police said the woman was driving a red Dodge Caravan when she struck a parked vehicle, which should have damaged the passenger side rear bumper.

Driving while suspended

An 18-year-old Chatham woman is facing a driving while under suspension charge after Chatham-Kent police responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Baldoon Road and Keil Drive North in Chatham on Thursday morning.

Police said when it was discovered the accused was driving while under suspension, she was charged and her vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.

The woman is required to attend Provincial Offences Court on March 26.

Roadside breath tests

Chatham-Kent police conducted 15 roadside breath tests during a RIDE spot check held on Lacroix Street in Chatham on Thursday night.

Police said no infractions were reported among the 75 vehicles that were stopped.

Motorcycle stolen

Chatham-Kent police are investigating the theft of a 2005 black Harley Davidson Softail Night Train motorcycle.

Police said the motorcycle was stolen from a parking lot on Sheldon Avenue in Chatham sometime between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

The motorcycle was last seen with Ontario licence plate 3L0E1.
