C-K hit with power outages
Hydro One and Entegrus are both reporting outages due to a powerful line of storms that pushed through Chatham-Kent overnight.
Approximately 500 Entegrus customers are still without power Saturday morning, but crews are working on restoring downed lines, said Erin Bourdeau, Entegrus conservation program manager, in an e-mail.
"As the sun comes up more damage may be apparent," she said. "Stay clear of downed power lines and equipment and never assume they are safe to go near. Please report them to Entegrus at 519-352-6300."
Hydro One's online outage map reported approximately 48 outages with more than 6,400 customers throughout Chatham-Kent affected. They hope to have power restored in all areas by noon today.
Blenheim and Rondeau appear to be hardest hit by outages, while reports of trees down and flooding are throughout the municipality.
