Teen performing live on Toronto's Breakfast Television

A prominent Chatham teenager is scheduled to perform Tuesday morning on Toronto’s Breakfast Television.

Brooklyn Roebuck will be backed up a local band called Bent Str8! comprised of Darryl and Dwayne Boismier, Terry Barker and Dale Rivard.

Roebuck, who has been singing and entertaining since the age of 7, will perform live on the morning show between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.

The 15-year-old is the first winner of YTV’s The Next Star to sign with a record label. She is currently signed with CMT/Corus Entertainment with distribution through Sony Music Canada.

Since winning The Next Star, Roebuck has released two more songs and two more videos.

She has been interviewed by ET Canada, CMT Top 20 Countdown, OWL Magazine, and several radio stations and newspapers across Canada.

She performed on CMT (Country Music Television) for the Christmas Special The Gift of Giving along with the Trews. The Stellas, Lennon and Maisey, Randy Bachman and Beverley Mahood.

Roebuck had a guest appearance in YTV’s series Life With Boys and has been the host on YTV’s Big Fun Movies on four separate occasions. She also hosted The Next Star auditions in Toronto for YTV’s The Zone.

At age 11, Roebuck performed in Canada’s largest Lights Festival production — the CAA Winter Festival of Lights and performed in front of a televised crowd of 7,000 people.

At age 12, Roebuck performed at the Boot Hill Jamboree and shared the stage with Dean Brody, the Oakridge Boys and High Valley. She also performed in Nashville on three popular stages.

At age 14, she entered YTV’s The Next Star, the largest Canadian singing competition for kids 15 and under. During the competition she wrote her first single, which charted in the top 100 of the female Canadian country music charts. The video was featured on CMT and Juicebox and performed in three videos while on The Next Star.
