CKPS Most Wanted list shortened


An Erie Beach area man, wanted on outstanding arrest warrants, has turned himself over to authorities.

The 29-year-old was on the Chatham-Kent police Most Wanted list.

The accused is facing charges of assault, break and enter, theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000, said police.

The Douglas road resident presented himself to police at the Blenheim Service Centre over the noon hour Thursday.

He was released with a future court date.


Locker theft at Chatham school


A man is missing his cellphone and a wallet containing all his personal identification, after someone entered the men's change room at Ursuline College Chatham on Grand Avenue West.

It's believed the theft occurred between 1 p.m. and 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, said police.

The phone is described as a black Samsung Galaxy Note ll in a black case and valued at $900.

Authorities are hopeful someone will come forward with information and return the property, said police.

Coin boxes tampered


In the past month, Chatham-Kent police have responded to several incidents of thieves stealing coins from buildings with shared laundry facilities.

Police are reminding residents of apartment buildings to call them immediately should they find someone behaving suspiciously around the property.
