20-year-old arrested after foot chase
Grabbing his backpack and making a run for it didn't work out for a 20-year-old male in Chatham Wednesday.
Chatham-Kent police said the man fled out the front door of a Raleigh St. home when officers attempted to take him into custody on an existing warrant for his arrest last night.
The suspect grabbed a backpack on the way out the door but dropped it after he jumped off the front porch.
He was apprehended after a short foot chase, said police.
The backpack contained a significant amount of change and items connected to a break and enter that occurred on Bedford Street that same day.
The man faces charges of breach of probation, possession of methamphetamine and possession of stolen property.
'Burg man faces assault charges
A 24-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing several charges of assault.
Chatham-Kent police investigated a report of a threat at a Wallace St. Residence in Wallaceburg and found the victim had been assaulted on several occasions and threatened during incidents which occurred last week.
Police said the man was arrested Wednesday and charged with three counts of assault, assault with a weapon, overcoming resistance (choking) and two counts of breach of probation.
Man charged after prescription change
A 30-year-old Tilbury man was arrested after being suspected of changing a prescription.
The suspect went to Tilbury Medical Clinic Wednesday and obtained a prescription.
Chatham-Kent police said the man then went to Shoppers Drug Mart after changing the prescription.
Police were called to the business and the man was arrested.
The man is already before the courts with a number of similar charges, said police.
