Mairs scores three for Atom Cyclones

Brendan Mairs had a hat trick for the Chatham-Kent Major Atom 'AAA' Cyclones in a 7-3 win over the Hamilton Huskies on Sunday in Bothwell in the Alliance league.

Craig Spence added two goals and one assist, and Cameron Symons and Quinn Erickson each had a goal and an assist. Adrian Stubberfield and Matt Gaudrault each had two assists.

Jessie McPherson was the winning goalie as the Cyclones improved to 12-10-8 overall.

On Saturday, they lost 4-0 to the Junior Knights in London.

MINOR PEEWEES: Lucas Fancy and Aidan Lachine each had one goal and two assists in the Cyclones' 5-2 road win over the Brantford 99ers on Sunday.

Travis Tuszynski and Cole MacKinnon each had one goal and one assist, Evan Wells also scored and Connor Wright had two assists. Noah Legary was the winning goalie.

On Saturday, the visiting Cyclones lost 4-0 to the Hamilton Huskies.

MAJOR PEEWEES: Ty Lucio had one goal and one assist for the Cyclones in a 6-3 road loss to the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday.

Spencer Marcus and Brayden Latimer also scored. Grant Spence had two assists.

On Saturday, the Cyclones led 2-1 late in the second period but lost 3-2 at the Waterloo Wolves. Spence and Latimer scored.

Sam Popen was in net for both games.

MAJOR BANTAMS: The visiting Cyclones rallied from a two-goal deficit to tie the Kitchener Rangers 2-2 on Sunday.

Blair Derynck scored the tying goal in the third period. Brendan Harrogate scored in the second.

Nolan Hakr and Joseph Raaymakers split the goaltending.

On Saturday, Derynck had a natural hat trick and Raaymakers posted the shutout in a 4-0 road win over the Waterloo Wolves.

Ross Krieger also scored and Nick Delyzer had two assists.
